Brief Overview:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 12:15 PM (September through May). Attendance at meetings and events, including faculty meetings, is required outside regular school hours.
Additional Hours: Optional afternoon hours may be available.
The West Hill School is a unique coeducational preschool for children ages 2 years 7 months to 5 years, accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS). Founded in
1966 and situated on over two beautiful acres, West Hill was built especially for young children.

We are seeking a warm, experienced, and dedicated Head Teacher to lead a preschool classroom serving children ages 2 years 7 months to 3 years. This collaborative role is in a school setting—
not a daycare—and focuses on early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices, grounded in a commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:
• Lead a nurturing, engaging classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and language development of young children
• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities
• Partner closely with the other teacher to support a class of 14 children
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Observe and assess student progress, maintaining clear and thoughtful communication with parents
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment

Qualifications:
• Experience working with young children (ages 2–3) in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and of developmentally appropriate practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create a warm, caring, supportive, engaging, and structured classroom
environment
• Minimum of B.Ed. A degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
