Job Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide an educationally effective, safe and well-supervised learning experience and environment for children, to include the classroom, outdoor play areas, and field trips.
- Promote the social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development of children.
- Encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program.
- Ensure classroom compliance with all state and federal Performance Standards.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive and effective lesson plans to facilitate child learning and development.
- Develop individual goals for children, provide on-going assessment on progress and facilitate transition into kindergarten.
- Participate in self and classroom evaluation as required and participate in staff training.
- Complete all information gathering requirements, and monitor for accuracy in data entry, hard files, and child portfolios.
- Engage and encourage parent involvement in the child’s learning and development.
- Support childcare initiatives to improve the health/safety and quality of life for children and their families.
Qualifications
- CDA (Inf/Todd) Preferred. Associates and Bachelor Degree holders eligible for Lead Teacher Positions.
- Minimum two years teaching experience in a comprehensive childcare program.
- Ability to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of all children including at risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse populations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to converse, read and write Spanish and English (preferred).
- Commitment to dual language learning (English and Spanish).
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, internet and e-mail.
- Ability to secure clearance for PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History, NSOR and FBI (required).
- Ability to secure health clearances every two years and TB once (required).
- Hold certification for Infant/Child CPR and First Aid, or ability to complete the required training within three months of hire.
