Brief Overview:
The Children’s Garden of St. John’s is a ministry of St. John’s Lutheran Church, rooted in the belief that every child is a beloved child of God. Serving children from infancy through kindergarten, we are committed to nurturing the whole child—socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually—through a play-based, relationship-centered environment.
Our mission is **“Grow in Faith, Share God’s Love, Serve Others.”** We strive to create a community where children, families, and staff are known, valued, and supported and where our work is grounded in care, curiosity, compassion, professionalism, and joy.
The Assistant Director works closely with the Director to support the daily operation and educational quality of The Children’s Garden. While the Director maintains overall responsibility for the Center, the Assistant Director provides **hands-on leadership for classrooms, curriculum, student records, and day-to-day program implementation.**
This is not solely an administrative position. The Assistant Director is expected to be a visible and active presence throughout the Center—regularly spending time in classrooms, supporting teachers, observing children, assisting with coverage when needed, and helping ensure that our expectations for quality care and education are consistently practiced.
The Assistant Director should be a professional, positive, team-oriented leader who enjoys working alongside teachers and children.
