Job Responsibilities:
Core responsibilities will include:
Educating and caring for young children (infants and toddlers), encouraging their individual growth and development.
Organizing a cohesive program and communicates the Center’s philosophy (Reggio Emilia Approach and Developmentally Appropriate Practice).
Assisting in creating a curriculum that uses inquiry-based teaching strategies with an emphasis on collaborative learning.
Adhering to The Department of Human Services licensing regulations and The National Association for the Education of Young Children’s accreditation standards.
Developing regular, ongoing, two-way communication with parents about children’s experiences, development, and learning, and participates in planning, organization, and dialogue/presentation for parent meetings.
Committing to best practices and continued professional development and growth, earning twenty-four (24) hours of required professional development annually.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education/Training/Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, psychology, elementary education, special education, or related field OR
A bachelor’s degree, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or related field and 1 year of experience with children OR
An associate’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children OR
An associate’s degree, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
Physical Requirements/Mobility:
Full range of body motion needed, and change positions/ have the mobility to interact with young children.
Must pass a pre-employment physical exam (including TB test) for clearance to meet the physical req.
