Job Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule and implement appropriate developmental experiences for the children
• Assist in planning and preparing activities (i.e., Learning Centers, curriculum implementation, art projects, story time) per lead teacher’s direction
• Assist as needed with decorating, reorganizing, and keeping the classroom refreshed and relevant
• Maintain positive and clear communication with Lead Teacher and Director
• Consider and provide for the needs of each individual child in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background, emotional or physical handicaps and individual style and pace of learning.
• Assist children in learning to adapt and cope with real-life situations; to develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping and personal hygiene
• Assist teacher with documenting daily observations of the health of children, and conditions which require attention
• Assist with parent-teacher conferences
• Assistant lead teacher with observations on the emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development of the children
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops and other staff developments and professional activities
• Complete continuing education hours per State requirements each year
