Brief Overview:
The role of all teaching staff is to provide direct services to parents and children. Teaching staff are to build positive relationships with parents and children and to act as a link between the family and the community.

It is the role of every person at Kid Biz to:
1) Treat staff, parents and children with respect and dignity.
2) Continually learn and identify strategies to improve the services we provide to families.
3) Work in cooperation to maximize the achievement of our mission and vision.

Job Responsibilities:
For Children:
1) Observations on newly enrolled children within 45 days of start date and twice yearly for every child enrolled in class.
2) Individualize activities, goals and interactions with children based on their developmental needs.
3) Responsibility to deliver services to a group of children and their families, consistent with the programming of Kid Biz, LLC.
4) Help each child to know, accept and take pride in themselves.
5) Support the social development of children by helping them learn to get along with others and by encouraging feelings of empathy and respect among children and adults.
6) Promote an environment in which children can learn and practice behaviors which are acceptable and appropriate, individually and in a group.
7) Provide opportunities for children to understand, acquire and use verbal and nonverbal means of communicating thoughts and feelings.
8) Interact with children as much as possible during free/center time - engaging and encouraging individual and group activities.

For Parents:
1) Demonstrate commitment to Kid Biz' parent involvement philosophy.
2) Demonstrate respect and sensitivity to the social environment of families.
3) Encourage and supervise parent involvement and participation according to Kid Biz' guidelines.
4) Interpret company objectives and concepts to parents.

For the Classroom:
1) Use space, materials and routines as resources for constructing an interesting and enjoyable environment for exploration and learning.
2) Use a variety of equipment, activities and opportunities to promote the physical development of children.
3) Encourage activities and experiences that develop questioning, probing, creativity, exploration and problem solving.
4) Maintain classroom pets (where applicable)- food, water, cleaning cages/aquariums, etc.
5) Using and implementing sand and water tables at least 3 times per week.
6) Outside activities for all age groups at least once daily (preferably twice) when weather permitting.

For Health and Safety:
1) Ensure the health and safety of children in the classroom, outdoor play areas and on field trips.
2) Conducts classroom health and safety activities such as fire drills, reporting staff and child accidents and using universal precautions. Ensures that all classroom staff model procedures such as trying new foods and hand washing.
3) Provide a clean and safe environment in the center by following daily chore lists and regular bleaching schedules.
