Brief Overview:
When you join our team as a Lead Teacher you will:
• Plan and implement Childspace curricula – The Creative Curriculum
• Conduct child assessments
• Supervision of staff in classroom, gives direction when needed and feedback (positive and negative) on performance, encourages and assists new and permanent staff in developing knowledge and skills.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
• Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
• Support the center’s success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and family engagement
• Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities and community contacts
• Plans and facilitates team meetings
Qualifications:
• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
• Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers to create a dynamic environment cultivating play and discovery
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• 2 years documented experience working with children
• A minimum of an associate degree in ECE or related field (some positions require a Bachelors in ECE or related field. Consideration can be given to CDA (Child Development Associate) certificate holders with additional college credits.
• Physically able to use a computer, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, work indoors or outdoors, and see and hear children.
